Publication Updates AUGUST 2020

Halfway through the month and I have publication updates to report. I sold a story and I recently received the cover art for “ALICE”.

Publication Update: ALICE is due out September 15th.
Cover art for “ALICE” my zombie horror novel due out on September 15th.

For those of you who remember, “ALICE” is due out September 15th. I received the cover art recently and I love it. I’m ready for this book to be out, but I know there are edit rounds it must go through first; however, EXCITEMENT. Lots of excitement.

“ALICE” is my first attempt at writing a zombie novel. I’ve tried more than once, but this one was the one which stuck with me. Probably because it isn’t nearly as much about the zombies, which are awesome, but about the people who are accosted by them and their interactions. I honestly think the interactions  between the characters are why this book sold. I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say about my characterization and the people that I include in the novel.

Publication Update: SLAY: Tales of the Vampire Noire is due out October 13th. Preorder now.
Cover for SLAY: Tales of the Vampire Noire where my short story ‘Ujima’ makes it debut.

Secondly, I sold ‘Ujima’ my vampire story to “SLAY: Tales of the Vampire Noire” from Mocha Memoirs Press. It will be one of 29 stories in the anthology. I’ve written vampires before, most notably in the short story “Lipstick on a Business Card” which is available various places around the interwebs. You can even purchase “Objects: Stories of Things” as an audiobook and listen to me read it to you. However, ‘Ujima’ is different for me because it was my attempt at making the vampire mythos which I understand quite well into something different. Pulling a Stephanie Meyer, but not with translucent sparkles all over the body.

Coming in at 100K, I think the anthology is a steal at $7.99, but I could be totally biased. Preorder NOW, SLAY will be out officially on October 13th.

That does it for this month’s publication updates.
